Pediatric Quality and Safety (PQS) is a peer-reviewed, open access, online periodical dedicated to providing healthcare professionals a forum to disseminate the results of quality improvement and patient safety initiatives that impact the lives of children from newborn to young adulthood. The journal expects to publish articles across a broad array of topics related to quality improvement including but not limited to QI methodologies and QI tool schools, QI related M & M, collaborative and network QI research, value and payment reform, population health, human factors helping to improve performance, guidelines and pathways, QI organizational structure, and QI education for staff and trainees.
Manuscript submission is open to all individuals from around the world interested in improving the health and well-being of children and young adults. PQS provides an open-access venue for the publication of those quality improvement and patient safety-related studies sponsored by private and public funding agencies that require open access publication of study results. As an open access journal, PQS offers its content for free to any viewer. Authors of articles retain their copyright to the materials published. Additionally, PQS provides rapid review and publication of accepted papers in real-time. There are currently no costs to authors or authors’ institutions or funding bodies to publish in PQS. The cost of publication for peer-reviewed, accepted manuscripts is underwritten by an institutional grant.
