BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Body spray is a product of alcohol and fragrance which is meant to be sprayed directly on the body surface (skin) because it causes no known harm to the body. Every Average Nigeria has one or more of this in their closet. No dress-up is complete without a body spray, even without the addition of perfume; body spray gives us the nice smell, uniqueness and confidence to walk into any organization. Body spray and perfume has been interchangeably confused by many people as meaning the same thing, but from their uses, duration of stay and composition, this is totally false.

In our everyday life, most of the products like body spray, dettol, izal, hair cream, body cream, toothpaste, bar and liquid soap, beverage, conditioner, relaxer, vaseline, body wash, sanitizer, air freshener, detergent, shampoo and snacks are being use in the home, offices, saloons hospitals, restaurants, schools and factories have some pleasant scents in them (Bienkiewicz, 2003). This pleasant scent is refers to as perfumes, fragrance, flavour, or aroma, depending on the product type. This is to tell us that perfumes are used both in foods and some other products. for instance, you can spray perfume on your skin, rooms, pets, laundries, clothes or add flovour to your cake, ice cream, sandwich, biscuit, and chocolate. Different foods have their own fragrances in them, when it comes to foods the type of perfumes used in them is called flavor or spice. this is not the same as the one we wear on our bodies.

Body spray is simply the mixture of alcohol and fragrant essential oils extracted from flowers, leaves, stem barks, seeds, bud, roots, resin and petals or synthetically, used especially to ignite pleasant long lasting scent to the body (Caress, 2009). Wearing of body spay is another aspect of fashion or make-up for both males and females, this is because everyone wants to be noticed and envied by others which creates self esteem and in turn build self confident.

1.2 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
The study will cover the qualitative and quantitative analysis that is involved in the production of body spray from local raw materials that is:
1. Easy and accurate dispensing
2. Safe use and transport without risk of spillage
3. Long-term durability thanks to a tight sealing of the can and impossible of re-entry of microbial contamination during use
4. Recyclable packaging

1.2 AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The project is aimed and designed to evaluate the production of body spray with an attempt to show the key ingredient used in the production of body spray. The study reveals that body spray is a product designed to mask or remove unpleasant odors or smells from the body. Other objectives of these studies are stated below:
1. To provide body spray formulation that is easy to manufacture and does not require high temperature casting.
2. To provide body spray that is stable and does not experience significant fragrance weeping across normal transportation temperatures of up to 30-50°C.
3. To provide body spray that is easily dissolvable in water, and creates a clear liquid composition that is free from large particles and clumps.
